On the way back to the ferry we passed this blue home. The houses in the Transkei are all painted in bright joyful colors like this one. The color schemes vary from year to year. In 2008 a bright sky blue, pink and turquoise were very much in fashion. The Transkei was a homeland under the old Apartheid regime and served as a labour pool for the East London and other cities.
