A Dead Warrior Under A Bright Sun
In photography there are two ways of shooting a good picture.
The first is to be aware and present in the moment and not to hesitate to capture the "decisive moment".
The second way is the way of patience and careful preparation.
The angle is one of the most important factors. From which level are you looking at your object? Same level, from below, above or behind, or from the side. Everything changes as soon as you move. It determines the composition of the whole picture
The light gives it the final finish. Suede, soft, crisp, elusive, evasive, sharp, in contrast......... The light allows you to add feeling to your picture. So wait for the light you want. See it first on the inside, perceive it in you and then wait for the conditions to arrive.
Gadgets, lenses and filters are the least important of all.

A POLKA DOT DRESS
There was this super cool beetle moving along in my garden.
wearing a high end fashion yellow polka dotted Designer dress
on the way to the catwalk he got entangled in all sorts of stuff
but I want to make a dress like that. Simply have to!

True Green
After a very unusual rainy and stormy beginning of summer
The most amazing creatures can be found outside in the garden
like this green moth camouflaged as a green leaf in decay
Green is the color of my true love getting comfortable on my finger
and making my skin itchy.
and making my skin itchy.

The House Is Empty Now
Since a couple of years African wasps return every year to build their nest in my beach-cupboard, an old white painted cupboard on the veranda, used to store shells, drift wood and other beach finds waiting to find new existence and meaning of life in jewelry or other art objects.
When the larvae have left, that have been protected by an amazing mud structure hanging on one arm until their day of freedom and maturity has come, they leave the most beautiful piece of architecture behind.

SAY YOUR WISH
If your wish is your true desire it will come to you.
I said my wish silently that a beautiful butterfly might want to rest for a while in front of me.
My deep wish was to see it completely fearless and feeling safe close to me.
I asked and prayed so nice that it must not move
for me to see the hair and color on its velvet wings
I asked and prayed real nicely for some days
that it might slowly unfold and close its wings.
Because for me that signifies true magic
I asked and prayed so intensely
that it would not move so that I could lay next to it
for me to see his big eyes
My wish was to see a completely different form of life feeling free and careless next to me.

FOUR LEGGED SPIDER
I don't know exactly how many legs are missing - at least three. But it's still going strong and fast.

SHELTER ME

Everybody needs someone to shelter him.
From the hot African sun or from a cold winter.
From hunger and pain. Be it physical or emotional.
From loneliness or excess.
From Ignorance and Arrogance.
From People.
From life.
Shelter can be found under a leaf, in a country, with people or in somebody's heart.
But it is there.

A HOUSE OF SILK
To build yourself a house of silk, hang it in the trees and adorn it with dew drops is the birth right of long legged, light built creatures. How I would like to do that.!
The unbearable lightness of just hanging somewhere is entirely their's.
This beauty was crowning the ceiling of my bedroom and after having taken lots of portraits of her lightness she gave me a decent shiver when deciding out of a sudden to let herself fall down and land next to me on the bed. The reason is only known to her.

PRAYING MANTIS
I had a special pet for many weeks, a praying Mantis residing on the outside of my kitchen wall most of time.
Until she lost part of her right back leg. This is the last picture of her in movement climbing up the wall with three and a half legs.True the kitchen wall does not like kitchen walls should look like.... clean and neat. Nope.
