My Companion
You might have noticed a slight change in scenery lately. After 5 years in Africa, without having been to the Old World, I spent a holiday of six weeks in Europe.
One week and one day for every year spent in the South.
This was my beloved companion. The 30 year old orange Peugeot bicycle of my mother. It was released from it's uncomfortable and dusty position under the garage roof, where it has been tied up for decades. My brother's friend Olli gave him tender love and care. Bless you Olli !
My companion was allowed to roam free again.
You could almost hear him sigh.
And believe me: to what places of wild and un-tamed beauty I was driven !
Into the woods and over the land.!
Where the trees are known to someone by their very own personal name

SO VERY LIGHT
This blog is not meant to sell something or to stimulate a desire in you.
It is about the impressions and moments that bring joy to me and stimulate me.
It is about those moments that make me feel like I am one with the universe or god - whatever name you prefer.
It is about the moments when my consciousness is clearer and raised.
Like when I see this feather.
Something so very light.

BIRDS IN PARADISE
It is the time of the year again when the small red berries are ripe.
And of course it is celebration time for the birds who live in paradise.
This is the view that I get when I look out of my office window.
There is truly no better place to be than right in the middle of berry-paradise. Berry Paradise is my garden. I am blessed with a very wild and natural environment that I just keep the way it is. In these green dense bushes and trees around my house live over 70 different species of birds.
This is a parrot like species with long tails and a beautiful grey feather crown and very naughty faces.
The only thing you have to do is to open your mouth as wide as possibly. Not so easy when what you eat is double the size of your mouth.
While your friends are watching you from airy regions, rocking on branches in the winter wind and resting in between meal courses.
But it is a land of plenty. So there is no need to worry.
Further down in the garden are more options to indulge.
The delicious guavas are ripe and it is pleasure to feast together.
IT CAN NEVER GET FRESHER
And after all the celebrations and all the eating one has to rest again.

SHELTER ME

Everybody needs someone to shelter him.
From the hot African sun or from a cold winter.
From hunger and pain. Be it physical or emotional.
From loneliness or excess.
From Ignorance and Arrogance.
From People.
From life.
Shelter can be found under a leaf, in a country, with people or in somebody's heart.
But it is there.

JUST CALL ME
I had a friend staying with me for a couple of days and while we were sitting at the little table behind the kitchen and chatting he suddenly pointed into the lower garden and asked with great interest:
" What is that ? "
" Where " I asked, following his extended finger with my eyes, not having a clue what he meant.
" Down there where the cables are coming out of the green ", he replied pointing repeatedly with his finger in that direction.
" Well, that is my telephone line".
"Oh" , he said.
And then after a moment of silence he added : " Should you not may be clean that out a little bit cause I think that people might actually be able to understand you on the phone when you speak."
True. He had a point there.
I had gotten so used to all that green and rapid growth around me that I do not notice anymore things like that.
And in fact I don't know how to reach that pole.
LOVE AND HOPE
RED AND GREEN
LOVE AND HOPE
I have declared this picture officially one of my favorites of 2010. Shells lying on the bottom of a rock pool in clear ocean water - as clear as it gets. And a perfect mixed media composition.

SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL
I saw blood red roses on a soft green background, broken by by white lines.
I SAW SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL.
Small sea nails have decided to crawl a slippery stone covered with green and red algae lying in a rock pool, the surface powdered with a thin layer of white sand, leaving their traces.
Thereby creating a net of interconnected lines looking like a hidden message.
And when they have completed the painting a new piece of work will be started. To be destroyed again.
I SAW SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL.
If this was my painting, my own piece of art, done on canvas I would have come a step closer to achieving my life's purpose and goal.
But this painting is in the water. It has been done by different life-forms of the ocean. And it is intended to be perishable. Artists have started to create perishable art. Art that is created for a certain exhibition, shown to the public and then destroyed.
Following nature's example?
