Mother Goose And Her Kids On A Family Walk At Lavender Blue

Lavender Blue is a popular farmers market on the road to Gonubie just outside East London. It is the right place for a family outing on Saturday mornings. From fresh bread, herbs, homemade cakes and jams to seedlings from the nursery - everything can be found there. There is a playground for kids as well and a little pond.

The Occasional Laziness

The pond is home to some feathered other families with their kids!

Everything has to be taught the right way

And as it so happened, they were just taken on a walk by their mothers when I was there!

Soo Bored By All This Teaching!

Some were reluctant to follow on this strenuous walk in the sun! But not for long. Seeing their brothers and sisters walk away made them change their mind very quickly!

Konrad Lorenz would have loved this!

It turned out to be fun.

Whatever it is - it does taste good

There was a lot to eat

The Bunnies And The Birds Of Tainton Avenue

Bunnies have been spotted lately in Tainton Avenue.

It was unusual.

But not anymore!

They have discovered that life can be quite exciting "outside"

And they got really street wise!

And since a while no garden service is needed anymore at my place.

But more, since the bunnies roam the street a whole lot of new of animals have been attracted by them that in turn observe them.

like these long legged yellow-eyed birds.

I think the intention here is to make a nest! In bunny territory

Some bunnies however could not care less about this new arrival, instead they take care of the neighbours lawn.

They have done a good job already!

On the move........hop hop hop to the next house

while these guys have a rather static nature.....

Somebody Else's Happiness

Is it not beautiful ?

It is so very beautiful!

They are so beautiful in their happiness

Often I ask myself

What has happened?

That the reminders of the most beautiful moments of somebody else's life

And the memories of somebody else's happiness

Have landed in a junk shop.

I ask myself with a little bit of fear in my heart

Will the decisive moments of my own life

Captured in photographs

Also be thrown away some day?

Because I do not matter so much anymore

To anyone.

But then again, we really are not that important

Four Little Red Riding Hoods At Work

I hope you do enjoy this picture as much as I do. The grey cement wall was the perfect canvas for the men at work and for the shadow of the street light. It is beautiful the way the scaffolding is put together in a truly African style. The men are connected to each other in a nearly poetic way. Yes, I am absolutely serious. And, no you do not have to understand always what I say.

But again it is relieving to live in Africa. Not everything has to be straight. And it does still work instead of contradicting the laws of physics and technique!

Not everybody uses a manual. Ok, you can argue with me over that if you like but I am not talking about good or bad! I am just talking about the many ways in which a thing can be done. Bringing makind desperately needed diversity!

My grandmother and me would have done it exactly the same way.
